FAQs

Where are you based?

We work from a unit in Lady Bay, West Bridgford in Nottingham but we also fit bikes from a unit near Six Hills between Nottingham and Leicester. Bike fitting can be done at a different location (e.g. your house/workplace) but this needs a little planning.

Are you qualified?

Yes. As well a degree in Sports Science & PE I am a qualified teacher, a qualified British Triathlon Coach, a qualified UK Athletics coach and a trained bike fitter.

What if I'm not happy?

Hopefully this won't happen but the fit shed has been set up to provide value without any financial ties-ins, making it simple for you to walk away at any point. We also offer repeat visits free of charge if you find your bike fit isn't quite right at the first attempt.

BIKE FIT

Why get a bike fit?

Almost everyone who cycles regularly would benefit from a bike fit and even if you had one a few years ago we need to review our fit as our body changes. Ultimately a bike fit should make you more comfortable and efficient on the bike leading to greater enjoyment and performance while riding.

How long does a bike fit take?

If you are able to complete the pre-fit questionnaire which we send in advance most bike fits take 90 minutes to 2 hours. Sometimes they might take a bit longer. We won't rush you out of the door and we will try and  make sure that you are happy with the fit before you leave.

COACHING

Why get a coach?

Pretty much everyone benefits from having a coach. It is absolutely possible to train and achieve well without one. However, having an objective and experienced voice helping you structure and plan your training is really valuable and will have benefits in your training and outcomes. It'll also prevent you learning the hard way some of the pitfalls of endurance sport!

What happens if I get injured or can't complete my plan?

Life does happen. You might get injured or you might get called away unexpectedly with work. If some thing like this crops up we will try and honour the plan - pausing any schedules if necessary.

I'm not sure if I'm the right standard?

You are. Give it a go.

Do I need any 'kit'?

Yes. Ultimately you will need some kit if you are going to run, cycle or swim. However we can help you avoid any uneccesary expenditure and make sure you get a good bang for your buck. If you are going to make the most of training we would recommend that you start with a smart watch such as a Garmin, Apple or Polar.
