About

introduction to the fit shed

Thank you for taking the time to find out a bit about us. We hope this gives you a bit of a flavour for our ethics, outlook and background.

Background

Having enjoyed a very successful first half of my working life in a senior and challenging job I hit the point (and possibly the age) where the nagging wish to start my own little enteprise and create a job that I love took hold. So, thanks to a very supportive family I took the leap into the unknown and the Fit Shed was born!

I am not an elite athlete, in fact I would go for 'respectable' - think sub 5hr 70.3 triathlete and sub 3hr marathon. But I have managed to move myself from a bit of an occasional evening runner, a bit of a weekend social cyclist and a total non-swimmer into completing full Ironman distance triathlon events.  The real trick has been doing this while also juggling a demanding job, a young family, retaining a social life, working with limited hours and maintaining my marriage! So, I won't be able to tell you how it feels to win an olympic medal but I can defintely help you to train smart, to a high standard, while balancing lots of other pressures!

Aims of The Fit Shed

Be ethical and honest

Provide good value

Provide high quality coaching, guidance & advice

Build an excellent reputation in the community

Philosophy

Sport is a great medium for developing character, resilience and mental well-being as well as your long-term physical health. Endurance sport is also a great place to find out a bit more about yourself. But we also have to be realistic: worthwhile achievement requires hard work. While we will help you to work and train smart there are no magic short cuts - if you want to run a marathon or complete a triathlon there will be some effort required along the way - although it's all worth it in the end!

Therefore, our philsophy will be to help you to achieve, being honest with you throughout and trying to keep things enjoyable and fresh along the way.

Our commitment

We want you to feel that there was value in our services. If you are unhappy with anything we will 100% work to change or improve our service. We do not have any financial tie-ins and you remain in control of the process and the finances, free to walk away at any point.

Getting the ball rolling

For anyone who is at all interested we would suggest an initial chat. There are absolutely no obligations (and we're terrible at sales anyway). Just pick up the phone, email in or message us via Facebook or Instagram.

Feedback

Altthough we are a relatively new venture here is what some of our clients have had to say:

" The structure and guidance really helped. It was just so much easier geting up and knowing what my training was going to be! I also had a bike fit with Dean which solved my hip issue. Overall very knowlegeable with a friendly and personable approach".

Peter, West Bridgford. Outlaw 70.3 PB and a happy bike fit customer.

"I really enjoyed my bike fit with Dean, he was very knowldgeable and a keen rider himself. His set up was great. Small tweaks to my bike have made a big difference. I have already recommended him to close friends."

Joel, Lady Bay. Happy bike fit customer.

I am so grateful to Dean for supporting me reach my goal of running the London Marathon. He was professional from the outset. Initially listening and understanding what I wanted to achieve, paying particular care to a longstanding injury. Dean created a unique programme for me which we discussed and adapted as my training goals progressed. It was so lovely knowing that I had someone championing my progress. It helped to have analytical data and nutrition advice on hand to boost my confidence. I felt supported and encouraged throughout, in a non-pressurised way. Thank you Dean for helping me achieve my goal of finishing strong and with an impressive time. I couldn’t have done it without you.

Sally, Lady Bay. London Marathon PB legend.
